My Brethren:
At our first Stated Communication this month, on the 11th, our Chaplain, Wor. Brother Earle William Griffith will present a program dedicated to the memory of our departed brethren. I encourage everyone to attend this meeting to reflect upon the wonderful friendships and associations we have all enjoyed as members of this historic Lodge.
Our 2nd Stated meeting this month will be held on the third Thursday due to the confliction of Christmas Day being on our usual Stated meeting night. Annual reports will be the business of the evening at this meeting, with closing as early as possible, so that we may all attend the Installation of Officers in Andrew Jackson Lodge No. 120.
Sunday, December 14th is the 176th anniversary of the death of our Illustrious Charter Master, Worshipful Brother George Washington. We will have our annual wreath laying ceremony on that day at Mt. Vernon with Fredericksburg Lodge No.4 and Washington Lodge No.21 of New York City also placing wreaths in the tomb. We will assemble our cars at the main gate to the Estate at 8:45 AM and drive down to the tomb in procession. After the ceremony we will have a coffee hour together at the Mt. Vernon Inn to warm up and enjoy fellowship together on this occasion.
On Saturday, December 27th, we will hold our Annual Meeting for the Election and Installation of the Officers to serve the Lodge for the coming year. Your attendance at this meeting will be deeply appreciated by all of the Officers of the Lodge.
District School this month will be held at Henry Knox Field Lodge No.349 on Tuesday, December 2nd. Lodge Ceremonies will be exemplified at the school.
As this is my last message to the membership as Master of this fine Lodge, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all those who have assisted in the operation of the Lodge this year by serving on committees, serving as Officers, presenting the programs for the information and enjoyment of the brethren and to all the members for supporting the Lodge by your regular attendance at our meetings. A special "Thank You" is extended to:

He emigrated to America, prior to the Revolution, with his brothers Christian and Jacob and settled in the city of Philadelphia. All of them served in the Revolutionary War. Henry was an aide-de-camp to General Washington, and was present with him in every battle, except that of Yorktown, having, on the previous day, been carried off the field wounded. He was a member of the "Society of the Cincinnati". After the war he settled in Alexandria. He married Mary Burroughs, a grand-niece of Lord Shirlock, an officer on the staff of Washington. He had no children. At the funeral of Washington, Major Piercy commanded the Independent Blues of Alexandria. Major Piercy died at Alexandria and was buried in the Episcopal burial ground, June 18, 1809, with military, Masonic: and civic honors.
