The summer season is just around the corner, and I know that many of you will be going away on vacation. If during your travels, you happen to visit another Lodge, please convey to them the Warm Fraternal Greetings of our Lodge. Also, extend them an invitation to visit with us and to tour the Memorial. Our Lodge will continue a full trestleboard throughout the summer and, as many of the Brethren will be away, your help will be needed all the more. I wish to thank all of you for the excellent support you have thus far given me, which I am sure will continue through the year.
We presently have thirteen Brethren undertaking the degrees. Five of them will be raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason this month. Come to Lodge and give these fine Brothers your support by taking part in the degree work. I am sure you will find it rewarding.
At our second stated meeting this month the Stewards, assisted by our committee of EAs and FCs, will serve a barbecued chicker, dinner. Dinner will be served at 6:00 PM, followed by Lodge at 7:30 PM. The hat will be passed to help cover expenses. If you missed the first dinners, talk with a Brother who was there. These dinners give us the opportunity to enjoy meeting with our candidates and to enjoy true Masonic Fellowship.
The Lodge will have a covered-dish dinner on Sunday, May 23rd at 6:00 PM. Ask your lady to prepare her specialty and meet with us in the Memorial diningroom. Bring the children and close friends. Show them Masonry in action. Brother Dennis McCraney will be handling the arrangements for this affair.
During this Bicentennial Year, Lodges of our sister jurisdictions are meeting in our lodge room almost every Saturday. Let us make them feel welcome by our attendance at their communications.
Sincerely and fraternally,
James B. Stone
Worshipful Master
