Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

March 1980

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

The month of February is now history, along with the 1980 session of Grand Lodge and the celebration of our namesakes birthday. There are so many people I want to thank for their help and support during these two events but space does not permit me to list them individually, so I will say "Thank You" to all whose efforts contributed to the success of these events. Some of these efforts were made even though the individual was stricken with a touch of the "flu" at the time, a fact that this Master views as another example of the lofty position Our Lodge holds in the hearts of its members.

You will notice that the month of March is a very busy one and your attendance and support will be greatly appreciated at as many events as you can fit into your schedule. Please don't feel that the events are for officers only, all Brethren are urged to attend. We will car pool to the events in order to conserve gas and also to have additional fellowship as we travel to and from these events. A phone call to myself or one of the officers will get the car pools formed.

Our Lodge received many honors at Grand Lodge but the one that stands out in my mind is the fact, that during 1979 Alexandria-Washington Lodge was NUMBER 1 in total contributions to the Masonic Home of Virginia. I feel that we should retain that honor every year, and you can help by sending your contribution now while it is fresh in your mind. Please send all contributions to our Secretary so that Your Lodge gets the proper credit for your generosity.

Sincerely and fraternally,
James R. Freeman

Worshipful Master
