Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

June 1980

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

How long has it been since you last attended a called meeting of your Lodge? Our Lodge is very fortunate in having a large number of candidates in the process of receiving their degrees at this time. The Officers would be most happy to see you at the called meetings. I can assure you, that there is a part just waiting for a Brother, such as yourself, to fill.

A warm thank you is extended to all members and their families who contributed to the success of the recent visit of Liberty Lodge. Without your help and support the task would have been impossible.

Brethren, the Lodge has a new and dynamic Education Program, up and running. The program is primarily directed at our candidates but it offers knowledge to all Masons. Note the schedule of the Education meetings, try to attend and see for yourself if my enthusiasm is justified.

Our first stated meeting this month will be Wardens Night, the speaker will be Rt. Wor. Bro. R. J. "Dick" Mat thews, who always brings an interesting message. The second stated meeting will be Patriotic Night with Wor. Bro. Bob Ruths, of Kemper Lodge putting on the program. We will also celebrate Masonic Birthdays and have our monthly educational program.

Two other dates to be noted for June are, Wednesday June 18 and Sunday June 22. On the 18th we will make an Official Lodge Visit to John Blair Lodge No. 187. Our own Bro. Dave Kruger will be the speaker for the evening. On Sunday June 22 the Lodge and their families have been invited to attend Worship Services at Christ Church, 118 N. Washington St. in observance of The Feast of Saint John the Baptist. We will meet in the courtyard at 10:00 AM so that we may be seated for the 10:30 service.

Sincerely and fraternally,
James R. Freeman

Worshipful Master
