As the month of August is normally our hottest month of the year, comfort and little work will be the order of the month. We will have only one called meeting (Aug. 4) this month. Our first stated will be sport shirt and watermelon night. Coats and ties are to be left at home for this meeting. The meeting will be as brief as possible and after closing we will retire to the dining room for fellowship and watermelon. You are requested to bring your FAMILY along this night to join us. At our second stated this month we will conduct business, celebrate Masonic Birthdays, and have our monthly Education Program.

Most of the officers and some of the brethren will be attending The Southwest Masonic School at VPI, Blacksburg, VA, August 10 through 14. Any brother desiring to attend should contact either the Secretary or myself for details and costs.

The Alexandria Scottish Rite Bodies will hold their annual Blue Lodge Night on Saturday, August 30. My supply of tickets to the dinner has been depleted, any brother issued a ticket should make sure he uses it or returns it to me. The schedule is, Lodge at 5:00, dinner at 6:00 and Lodge resumes labor at 7:00. The Master Mason Degree will be conferred in full costume.

On September 6, 1980 the Grand Master will make his official visit to Districts 1-A, 1-B and 54. He will be received in a tiled Lodge at 5:00 at the Alexandria Scottish Rite Temple. Dinner will be 6:00 with a program to follow at 7:30. I have tickets for the dinner at a cost of $7.50 each. There will be entertainment for the ladies while the men attend Lodge. The ladies are most welcome for both the dinner and program. See me to obtain your tickets early as there are only a limited number assigned to each Lodge.
