I draw your attention to the fact that this trestleboard covers the period of two months. You can see that even tho the summer is upon us, we still have work to do. Our Lodge is fortunate to have petitioners. Many of the Brethren will be on vacation during this period, so I ask that you try and help out with the degree work if you can.
I want to thank the Officers and all who have been helping out during my illness and convalescence. It is gratifying to know that there are so many kind, willing and dependable Brethren in our Lodge. I hope that it will not be too much longer before I may resume my full duties as Worshipful Master.
On July 9th we will celebrate Patriotic Night. Worshipful Brother Bob Ruths will be our guest speaker that night. If hls past performance is any indication of what is in store, I am sure we will be in for a special treat.
For many years Right Worshipful Brother Donald Maynard Robey has been accumulating slides of the many activities in the area. Consequently, I have asked him to entertain us on Family Night, August 13th. On that evening, we will have a very short meeting and try to have Lodge closed by 8:00 PM. Then we will have the families come into the air-conditioned Lodge Room for an evening of fun. Afterwards, the Stewards will have special refreshments for all to enjoy.
The Southwest Masonic School will be conducted at Blacksburg during the period 9-13 August 1981. Any member desiring to attend this school should contact the Senior Warden for reservations.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Robert J. Booterbaugh, Jr.

Worshipful Master

The Trustees are currently seeking capable individuals for employment on the Lodges souvenir stand. A vacancy exists for a manager for the stand. The work might be best suited for a retiree that is looking for supplemental income, but this is not an absolute requirement. Members of Alexandria-Washington Lodge will receive first attention but other applicants can be considered. Interested individuals should direct their Inquiries to the Lodge Secretary.
Alexandria Washington Chapter Order of DeMolay meets on second and fourth Saturday of each month in the North Room of George Washington Masonic National Memorial.
