As I prepare this trestleboard, February is not yet over and we are already preparing for another busy month which I pray will be an improvment in your visual support over the past two months.
At our Stated meeting for the 10th of March, Mrs. Donna Pope, Director of the Bureau of the Mint will visit to present to the Lodge, on permanent loan, a Silver commemorative coin in honor of the 250th Birthday of George Washington. This coin is the first 90% silver coin minted since 1964, and the first coin of commemoration since 1954. Won't you PLEASE join in welcoming Mrs. Pope. Wor. Brother Dennis McCraney has made the arrangements for this event, and we thank him.
Did you know that our Senior Steward, Brother Bob Smith and his wife Christina are the proud parents of a brand new baby boy? Well they are, and we congratulate them for their fine work.
Did you know that Gay Stone, wife of Jim Stone PM, has been doing the caligraphy for Master Masons certificates, and that she did the proclamations which were presented to the Grand Masters of Pennsylvania and Virginia on the 3rd of February which most of you did not attend. Well she does and we appreciate her sharing this wonderful talent with us.
And now my Brethren for a more serious matter. On the 3rd of February this Lodge experienced a very historic event which had been planned for several years. The Grand Masters of Virginia and Pennsylvania made special trips to be with us on that night. They were accompanied by many of their Officers. Wor. Bro. Howell did an outstanding job, with the assistance of the our Pennsylvania Brethren, in preparing an historic, accurate account of the original warrant issuing ceremony on 3 February 1783. In anticipation of a large turnout because of the historical interest of the meeting, the George Washington Masonic Memorial Executive Secretary, MW Marvin Fowler, arranged to have the auditorium set up especially for that meeting. Other Masonic Lodges in the area attended to show their love and respect for this lodge, and to support us in the years ahead. Brethren came from Richmond, Norfolk, New Jersey, and other far away places. The Grand Master of Pennsylvania, RW Samuel C. Williamson presented copies of many historic documents relative to this Lodge. MW Lloyd U. Jefferson made this his final trip of the year. We deeply appreciate their efforts. Many of our faithful were there for an experience we shall never forget. But what about you my Brother and member of this Great Lodge and Fraternity, why after all of this ... was the auditorium only half full? Think about it!
God Bless You,

L. M. Callahan, W.M.
