Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

May 1983

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

First I want to thank you for your response to your Worshipful Masters prodding to improve the attendance at Stated Meetings. Would you believe 99 at the 14 April communication? Do you suppose we could get just a few more to attend and assist at the Called communications? We desperately need your help to confer the degrees.

Our Secretary RT WOR Runaldue has been feeling poorly but is again starting to feel frisky, hurry back Godfrey, we need you.

Did you know that 12 of you have not paid your 1981 dues? Well you haven't. And 109 have not paid your 1982 dues.CHECK YOUR CARD and make sure that you are current. You may pay in advance for 1983 and avoid visitation problems.

Our two pillars of strength and beauty, will preside during the annual Wardens Night, 12 May. Special guest speaker will be RT WOR Ralph Julian Wimmer, Deputy Grand Master. He is an outstanding speaker and a super person.

Our Grand Master will make his Official visit to District 1A and 1B on the 14th. 5PM tiled meeting at the Scottish Rite Temple. Dinner at 6PM, entertainment 7:30PM. Wives will be taken care of during the tiled meeting. Tickets are $7.50, in short supply, and going fast. See the Secretary.

Brother Jack Henderson will conduct a meeting of the District Blood Bank Committee in our Lodge Room on the 21st 10:30 AM. Bro. Henderson is the Senior Deacon of John Blair Lodge.

You are invited to attend Potomac Lodge #5, 1212 Wisconsin Ave. Georgetown. for Secretaries Night on the 16th, 7:30PM. This is a great way to thank these hard working Brothers. And believe me Brethren it is a hard job.

Please don't forget to make your tax deductible contribution to the Virginia. Masonic Home. Be sure to include on your check, the 8 digits under your name on your current dues card so that the lodge will get credit for the contribution.

May is DELAWARE month for visiting lodges. You are invited to attend these meetings and to help welcome our guests.

God Bless You,

L. M. Callahan, W.M.

Brethren please note the Called communications for conferral of the degrees. We have been fortunate in having had VISITORS in the lodge to assist in this very important business. We are greatful to our faithful Past Masters who also continue to participate. What a shame it would be, to have candidates ready, but not enough skilled ritualists to do the work.
