Certainly one of the highlignts of this Lodge year was Past Masters Night on September 13. Thirty Past Masters were present and participating, fifteen of Alexandria-Washington Lodge and fifteen of other Lodges. Most Worshipful Brother Lloyd U. Jefferson held the interest of all as he keynoted the evening. On the Monday preceeding the Past Masters raised two candidates in a most impressive second section in which all were costumed in traditional dress. My sincere appreciation to each one who helped make this a never-to-be-forgotten event in the lives of Brothers Babiak and Keckler.
Our first stated in October has been designated Citizenship Night and MW Brother H. Bruce Green will be present with a message appropriate to the occasion and in his inimitable style. You'll not want to miss it. Coming on the 20th will be our annual Ladies Night. This is the occasion all of our ladies look forward to through the year. Put it on your calendar now and get your tickets, at $12.50 per head, from any of the Lodge officers. Dress is black tie preferred, or dark suit. We will be joined by our brothers and their ladies from Elkins Lodge of Philadelphia. Deadline for tickets is Monday, Oct 15.
Alexandria-Washington Lodge continues its tradition of the Table Lodge at its second stated on the 25th. It will be preceeded by dinner in the dining hall at 6:30. All Masons, including EA and FC, are invited. There will be no tickets, but you are requested to advise any officer of your intention to come, no later than Monday preceeding, so that proper preparations may be made. If you haven't been to any other Lodge meeting this year, you will certainly want to come to this. We particularly invite our brethren from our sister Lodges elsewhere in the area and sojourning Masons from other jurisdictions.
On October 30 we will host Masonic Districts 1A and 1B for District School. Exemplification of the second section, MM degree, is the program. It provides a fine opportunity to pick up pointers on your special parts. Attendance by Lodge officers is particularly desired. All others are welcome and encouraged to attend.
I again encourage your assistance in hosting visiting Lodges who come from afar to meet and confer degrees in our historic Lodge room. Note dates and times on the trestleboard.
Fraternally,

Archibald W. Lyon
Worshipful Master
