Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

July 1985

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

Our first stated on July 11th will be a civic recognition night for our masonic firemen with Brother Hubert Clarke, the Junior Deacon of AJ #120 and an Assistant Fire Marshall of D.C., as our speaker. Worshipful Jim Hayes, who is also a fireman, and I extend a special invitation to all masonic firemen and all dual members of AW #22 and AJ #120. Masonic birthdays for July will be celebrated at this meeting. Our second stated on July 25th will be a special evening with a Family Ice Cream Social after a short meeting. The program for the evening will feature a 50 year presentation to Rt. Worshipful Godfrey P. Runaldue. Bring your family, all are welcome!

In July there are two other events we need to support. On July 13th the Grand Master makes his official visit to Masonic District 1A and 1B. I have tickets for this occasion. On Wednesday, July 17th, John Blair Lodge #187 is having its first table lodge. Our AW Demolay Chapter will be serving a great steak dinner, members of our lodge will be participating, and Rt. Worshipful Donald M. Robey is the speaker. I have tickets at only $5.00 each.

Coming up in August is the school at VPI. All brethren who would like to learn a part of the ritual are welcome to join us. Contact Worshipful Jim Stone or myself for additional information.

In prior years, the master's letter would often recount the past month's activities and thank the brethren for their support. I haven't done much of that, but brethren the fellowship and brotherly love I have received has been outstanding. I sincerely want to thank each of you who have made this first half successful. Brethren, the year is but only half over, if you would like to join the fellowship, please don't hesitate to come to lodge. We could use the help with degree work and coaching this month.

With best wishes, I am

Fraternally,

John M. Nicholson, Jr.
Worshipful Master

Alexandria-Washington DeMolay Chapter meets at 5:00 p.m. each second and fourth Saturday at GWMNM. Please show your support.
