Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

November 1986

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

I shall have many pleasant memories of my year in the East in our lodge, but none will give me greater pleasure than those provided by the activities of October and the visitations of Constitutional and Elkins Lodges. There is insufficient room in the trestleboard to thank all who through their hospitality and hard work made these events possible, so I extend general and heartfelt thanks to all who participated with special recognition of the superlative job done by the ladies of our lodge, Bro. Wardell Thomas and by R.W. Bro. Odie R. Howell Jr., Wor. Bro. John R. Ranck, Sr., of your Visitation Committee.

Please note in your trestleboard the several special events scheduled for November. I hope to see Alexandria-Washington Lodge well represented in Fredricksburg on November 4th, for the celebration of George Washington's masonic birthday. Our J.W. Bill Jones has agreed to act as a contact point for all who wish to car pool. Bill can be reached at 978-9700.

On November 10th, Wor. Bro. Robert (Pete) Crabill has arranged a fine program honoring those Master Masons raised in 1986. We will act as host and I know you will wish to see our lodge well represented on this occasion.

On November 11th, Wor. Bro. Leo A. Sentiger, Jr., will present a masonic education program at Henry Knox Field Lodge. He will discuss masonic youth organizations with emphasis on Demolay. The many members who have expressed concern or interest in this topic will wish to attend.

Please note that in the month of December, starting on the 5th, the Alexandria-Washington Chapter of Demolay will again conduct a Christmas tree sale at the Scottish Rite Temple, 1430 West Braddock Road. W. Bro. Leo has assured me that the same excellent quality trees that were sold last year will again be available. There will also be a limited number of those special Christmas wreaths that can be purchased by early customers.

It is my sincere wish that the holiday season finds you and your loved ones in good health and happiness, and if you are so blessed, share your good fortune by visiting the sick and distressed.

Fraternally,

Wayne L. Gilbert
Worshipful Master
