Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

June 1988

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

The highlight of May had to be the weekend of the 21st in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when a contingent from AW#22 attended the annual visitation with Wil11am L. Elkins Lodge #646 on the occasion of their "Ladies Night". Their Master, Walter Barlow did a superlative Job in planning and implementing the activities, and their officers and members made us feel most welcome. It was indeed an enjoyable experience. I hope we will be able to do as well when we reciprocate in October on our "Ladies Night" --- more later.

Try to be with us on our first Stated Communication in June when the Heroes of '76 will be with us to present a "Flag Day" program.

On the second Stated Communication we will be honored by the presence of Illustrious Brother David Kruger who will present a program on the "Holy Saints John". This knowledgeable Brother's talk, on one of the most important facets of our Masonic heritage is one you won't want to miss.

The annual Lodge Picnic will be held on the 18th at Cameron Station Picnic Area #1. We have invited Andrew Jackson Lodge #120 and Henry Knox Field #349 to join with us. Bring the family and friends for this gala occasion.

Don't forget the District 1A & 1B Blood Drive on the 25th, at the Memorial. There are many Brethren and their relatives who in time of need depend on you to give the blood of life. lf you can't donate blood, but want to help, Come out and help us to assist, and serve those who do.

On the 26th we are invited to attend St. Johns Religious Services at the Baptist Temple Church. This invitation is extended to all Brethren and families of Masonic Districts 1A & 1B. We would like to have a sizable contingent of Brethren to help observe this important Masonic and religious occasion. Please plan to join with us.

Fraternally,
William A. Jones
Worshipful Master
