Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

September 1988

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

The "Dark Period" is over, and your Lodge will now resume hosting visiting lodges. There are two scheduled this month. Wouldn't you like to observe the ritual work of other jurisdictions and help me welcome the visiting brethren to AW#22? See schedule on opposite page.

On Saturday September 3rd, there will be a District 1A & 1B Masonic Blood Drive at the Memorial. There will doubtless be a number of you taking advantage of the long weekend, but for those of you who will remain in the area, we need your donation of that life saving commodity only you can give. If you can't give blood, please come out and help with the work.

On our first Stated Communication of September 8th, we will be honored by the presence of Mr. Henry L. Hudson, Federal District Attorney, Eastern District, who will present a program on "Federal Law Enforcement". Also, in compliance with sections 4.25 through 4.29 of the Methodical Digest, we will act on an application, read during the Stated Communication of August 11th, regarding consideration for the reinstatement of a former member to Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22.

On the 22nd, we will recognize those Brethren celebrating their Masonic Birthdays in the month of September, and present Veterans Awards to those Brethren of AW#22 who are celebrating "Twenty-five Years of Service".

The AW#22 Ladies Night program will be on Saturday, October 8th, not the 10th as misprinted in last months trestleboard. We will be taking a dinner cruise on the "Spirit of Washington" out of Pier 4, on Main Avenue. Donations are being accepted for the event at $30.00 per person, and will include a three hour cruise, a sumptuous feast of seafood, beer, and chicken with a selection of vegetables and salads, rolls and deserts, and a "Salute to Broadway" revue. We have one deck reserved for the Lodge which will accommodate 160 people. Dress will be casual so that we may have a relaxing evening of fellowship together. Call any Lodge Officer for reservations. Tickets will be collected at dockside at which time you will receive a "Spirit of Washington" boarding pass.

Fraternally,
William A. Jones
Worshipful Master
