Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

January 1989

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

Again, please accept my sincere and heartfelt thanks for the honor and trust that you have shown me by allowing me to be your Worshipful Master. I promise that I will serve the Lodge to the best of my ability and that by the Grace of God and with your support and assistance, we shall have an outstanding year.

Rededication of ourselves to the tenets of Freemasonry and an emphasis on the true nature of the Institution and the reasons for its being is, in effect, the unstated theme of my year in the East. I am confidant that the talk by Wor. Bro. Baldwin at the first Stated will be the perfect beginning.

Masonic Ritual Music is and has always been an important and intrinsic part of European Freemasonry. For some reason, this is not true of the Lodges in the United States. Our Senior Steward, Bro. Claude Harris, is quite knowledgeable on the subject and promises a most interesting and instructive program on the subject at our second Stated of the month.

The Lodge Ritual School, under the direction of our LIW, M:W: Donald M. Robey, is a going concern. It would be well worth your time to attend. Please note the meetings of the Archives Committee and the Trustees. These meetings are open and you are not only welcome but encouraged to attend.

For those who plan to make the trip to England this summer, the meeting on the eighteenth is most important. Bring your checkbook, the first payment is due!!

Fraternally,
Frederic W. Andersen
Worshipful Master
