My thanks to all of you who made our Installation a grand success. More especially, to Frances Runaldue and the Ladies of the Lodge who prepared and served the refreshments for the Reception. They made the eventng a truly memorable affair.

Resolutions to be presented at the Grand Lodge will be read and discussed at the first Stated Communication of the month. Please attend. I depend upon your comments to help form my decisions. Remember that, if adopted, these Resolutions are the supreme law of our Lodge.

Tickets for the George Washington Birthday Dinner are available from any officer and are ten dollars each. They must be purchased prior to 10 February.

Please be at the gate to Mount Vernon by 8:30 AM on the 20th for the Wreath Laying. We must get organized to enter at 8:40 AM.

February 26, 1789: Dr. John Orr failed to provide the "Social Mirth". Michael Flannery, Esq. volunteered as a substitute. Bro. Flannery provided refreshments long talked about. They were supplied with wine ale and hard liquor. The Brethren overindulged. There is no true record as to just what did happen but there were many stories. Howor if the Officers were able to close the Lodge, we will never know. However, at the following meeting, besides a rebuke to the membership, the Master ordered a fine of 3 shillings assessed on the membership to be paid to the general fund, out of which Bro. Flannery was reimbursed.
