Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

March 1989

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

The busy month of February has passed and I should like to thank all who helped to make it a success. The Official Visit of the Grand Master and the George Washington Birthday Celebration went well and I believe that everyone enjoyed the evening. The Wreath Laying at Mount Vernon also went well except for the usual problem of the number of cars involved and the timing. In the future, this will be remedied.

The Grand Lodge Communication was quite interesting. In myestimation, the new shortened format was a success. The business flowed smoothly and quickly and I hope that they continue it in the future.

Brethren, please note the degree work on the 6th and 20th. Remember that the primary purpose of a Masonic Lodge is to make good men into good Masons. We owe it to our candidates to assist in this work and to show our interest in their progress and our affection for the Craft by being present at their Initiation, Passing and Raising.

Also, please note the Lodge Ritual School on the 13th and 27th. The Masters and Wardens Association Meeting on the 29th will exemplify the EA degree. This meeting is open to all Master Masons and all are encouraged to attend. All line officers are required to attend unless previously excused by the Worshipful Master.

Fraternally,
Frederic W. Andersen
Worshipful Master
