Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

May 1989

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

Our Lodge is the recipient of a most generous legacy from the estate of our late Past Master, Wor. Bro. Charles L. Eisenman. The first distribution of 25,000 dollars has been recently received. The final distribution of approximately the same amount is expected this summer. By vote of the Lodge, 7,500 dollars of this amount will be used to purchase a computer system for the administration of the Lodge and which will be dedicated as a memorial to Wor. Bro. Eisenman.

At our first Stated Communication in June we will ballot on a nominee for District Deputy Grand Master to serve this district in 1990. The Grand Master has established a new procedure for making nominations to be presented to the Deputy Grand Master for his selection. Here is the new procedure: (1) The membership must be notified at least one month in advance that the nomination process is to take place. You are hereby notified that Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22 will hold nominations on June 8, 1989. (2) Each nomination must be accompanied by a resume on the individual and read to the lodge. (Call the Secretary for copies of the resume form if you intend to nominate someone.) (3) After all nominations have been made, resume read and discussion held, the vote will be taken by secret written ballot. (4) A like procedure will be used to nominate an alternate.

Those who are making the trip to England will note the meeting on 3 May. Please bring your checkbooks!

The William Hiram Wood Area School, held on 5 and 6 May, is a major event in our Masonic education. All stationed officers are expected to attendi all others are encouraged to do so. It is well worth your time and effort.

Fraternally,
Frederic W. Andersen
Worshipful Master
