It is a pleasure to announce the election of Brother Granville C. "Jack" Canard, Jr., to the office of Junior Deacon at the stated communication on September 14. After the election, he and Brother Bill Mitchell, the recently appointed Junior Stewart, were installed by Most Worshipful Donald M. Robey. Also, Worshipful Brother Harold Cumbee was appointed as an addition to the Investigating Committee.
Our first stated communication will be Past Masters Night. Past Masters will conduct the meeting and confer the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in costume. Prior to the meeting, at 6:30 pm, the Past Masters and Officers will meet for dinner in the dining room of the GWMNM.
Ladies Night will be held on Saturday, October 21st, at the Holiday Inn, on Eisenhower Drive (oIl Telegraph Road). Dinner will be at 7:30 pm with entertainment following. Tickets are $20.00 per person and may be obtained from any of the lodge officers. The final date for obtaining tickets is Saturday, October 14th. As usual, our friends from Elkins Lodge No. 646 of Philadelphia will be joining us. We are looking forward to a very enjoyable evening. Please plan to attend.
We are currently giving instruction in catechism to eleven candidates (eight in EA and three in MM) and have three more potential candidates who will be balloted on October 12th. We are very much in need of help with the coaching. If any brother would be willing to help by taking a candidate to coach, please contact the Junior Deacon, Brother Jack Canard, to make arrangements.
