Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

February 1990

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

I have said in Lodge many times that we need a Transportation Committee for the purpose of bringing the Widows to the social events and elderly members to the meetings - no response. I am convinced the word "committee" is the wrong approach - so let me try again -will you come join me in the AW22 Express Club. No dues, just a lot of fun. The effort on your part will be small, but, the joy in their hearts will be BIG; won't you light their candle?? All aboard!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Masonic Home with Bro. Swiger, we saw Bea Robinson (Widow of West), now 89 years young, also Brother Persiani. Both are in good health and very happy.

This month will be very busy with both the Grand Lodge in session and George Washington's Birthday Celebration including the visit of the Grand Master. We also have a large amount of degree work to complete for our eight (8) candidates. On this point, I want to take my hat off to Brothers Jack Canard and Earl Million for an outstanding job of coaching the candidates on the catechism. Brother Claude Harris has also joined the team, but these brethren alone can not meet the total requirement. I hope you will come forward and assist us with the coaching as well as attend all the activities scheduled this month.

The Officers have tickets for the George Washington birthday dinner on February 24th. Donations are $10.00. Looking forward to seeing all the brethren in attendance.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Wardell H. Thomas
Worshipful Master
