Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

October 1990

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

Let me have your attention for a moment, not as Worshipful Master of the Lodge, but, as Chairman of the "Special Ladies" committee, regarding Ladies Night on October 6th. I have felt for a long time that we should do more for our ladies; it's part of our obligation - some will need transportation. If you are unable to assist in this manner, a small donation would be sincerely appreciated - Won't you light their candle? Tickets for Ladies Night are available from any of the Officers for a donation of $20.00 per ticket.

On the 1st, we will make an official visit to our DeMolay Chapter. Please come out and show your support for our "Junior Masons."

Since May 1990, we have been holding our Ritual School on Sunday nights, but, it has not been well attended by other than the Officers of the Lodge. I have therefore move it back to Monday nights in the same week as our Stated meeting which will normally be followed on Tuesday night by our degree work. This school is intended for ALL MEMBERS of the Lodge who want to refresh their skills on the degree work and catechism, and is also open to ALL VISITORS who are Master Masons. I encourage all to attend as often as possible. If you are interested in taking an active roll in the operation of the Lodge or even getting in line as an Officer, this is an excellent place to start.

On the 11th, the Past Masters who were Officers of the Lodge in 1974 will occupy their same chairs and run the meeting. Let's show our support.

On Founder's Night, the 25th, our guest speaker will be Rt. Wor. John Price Riddell who always has an inspiring message. We will also recognize Masonic Birthdays at this communication.

For those members involved, please take note of the Trustees meeting and the Archives Committee meeting on the 15th and 24th respectively.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Wardell H. Thomas
Worshipful Master
