FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

Another Grand Lodge is over and we have elected a new Grand Master, Most Worshipful William Franklin Perdue. If you did not meet him at the George Washington Birthday Celebration, you will have another opportunity to meet him at the Cornerstone Laying Ceremony on March 23rd.

Please give specIal attention to the "Blood Drive" to be held at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial at 8:00am, on the 2nd. Our Military Forces in OperatIon Desert Storm will need our blood as well as our prayers.

We have a busy Saturday scheduled on the 16th with the Area Leadership Conference in the morning and the visiting Lodge in the afternoon. All line officers the Lodge must attend the Area Leadership Conference in order for the Lodge to qualIfy for the Noah HHlman Award. Please turn out and partake in this valuable conference. All brethren are invited to the visiting Lodge.

Our second stated communication for this month has been moved to the third Thursday, the 21st, in order that the brethren can attend the Maundy Thursday Service at the Scottish Rite Temple on the 28th.

The highight of the year, will be the Cornerstone Laying Ceremony scheduled on the 23rd, celebrating the bicentennial of the first boundary stone paced to demarche the frontier of the District of Columbia. All brethren are encouraged to attend this most historic ceremony which will take place at the Jones' Point National Park, Olde Towne Alexandria, located at the Virginia end of the Woodrow Wison Bridge. The ceremony will commence at 1:30pm. Ample parking is available. For the personnel participating in the ceremony, the final rehearsal will start at 12:30pm on the 17th in the basement of Gadsby's Tavern. The actual event will start at the same time, in the same place, on the following Saturday, March 23rd.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Earl C. Million
Worshipful Master
