Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

April 1991

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

This will be an extremely busy month. We begin our activities with a called meeting on the 1st when we will pass several brothers to Fellowcraft. On the 8th and 22nd, we will initiate two more candidates and on Saturday the 20th, we will raise five (5) Fellowcrafts to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. Brethren, please turn out and help with this degree work, especially on Saturday the 20th.

On the 6th, the Lodge Officers and several of the Past Masters with their Ladies will travel to Philadelphia to attend the annual Ladies Night Dinner with William L. Elkins Lodge #646. Elkins Lodge Officers and their Ladies will also attend our Ladies Night on October 12th. We look forward to this trip and the fraternal friendship and brotherly love we share between our two Lodges.

We have three visiting Lodges using our Lodge Room on the 6th, 13th, and 27th. The Lodge on the 27th will be a tri-state festival at which time three Fellowcrafts will be raised to Master Masons, one each by Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia ritual. Any Master Mason can attend these visiting lodges. Let's show our fraternal friendship by supporting these lodges and at the same time learn a little about the ritual and degree work of other jurisdictions.

At our Stated on the 11th, we will welcome RW Peter V. Hworchinsky, our District Deputy Grand Master on his official visit. We will also elect a member to the Board of Trustees to be a replacement for the remaining term of brother Mike McLaughlin who has requested to resign for personal reasons.

On the 26th, the Grand Master will make his official visit to Districts 1A & 1B to be held at the Alexandria Scottish Rite Temple. A VERY SHORT tiled Lodge will be opened at 6:30pm to receive the Grand Master, followed by a DINNER at 7:00pm and a PROGRAM in the auditorium at 8:00pm. The dinner and program are open to Masons, family mcmbers, and friends but require a ticket at $10.00 per person. I have the tickets; see me to get them.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Earl C. Million
Worshipful Master
