Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

May 1991

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

The lodge officers, past masters, wives and our special ladies who visited William L. Elkins Lodge #646 on their Ladies Night, April 6, 1991, had a great time. I received a marvelous desk pen set as a gift from the Worshipful Master, Anthony F. Romondo. We will have an opportunity to show our appreciation for their hospitality when the members of Elkins Lodge, with their ladies, will be our guests for our Ladies Night on Columbus Day, October 12.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, this month will be another busy month, especially with degree work. We have more candidates for the degrees in Masonry this year than in any of my previous six years as a member of this lodge. We need your help in support of the degree work. If you would like to help, but, think you are rusty, your chance to "brush-up" on the degree work is coming on the weekend of Friday evening May 17 and Saturday May 18 by attending the area William Hiram Wood School. The school will be held at the Arlington Masonic Temple, located at George Mason Drive and Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) in Arlington. The Friday session will start at 7:30pm and the Saturday session will start at 8:30am. All stationed officers are expected to attend; all other officers and members are encouraged to do so.

At our first stated in June (June 13, 1991), we will ballot on a nominee and an alternate for District Deputy Grand Master to serve the district in 1992.

At our first stated this month, on the 9th, we will hear a presentation on the Royal Arch Degrees. At our second stated, on the 23rd, we will receive our District Education Officer, Worshipful Brother William Consla.

We again have three visiting lodges this month and will have three next month. After June, there are no other visiting lodges scheduled, so if you are curious to see how other lodges in other states perform their masonic ritual, your opportunity is now, and not later.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Earl C. Million
Worshipful Master
