Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

June 1991

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

Do not anticipate a "summer slump" in lodge activity in June. We will continue to be as busy as we have been all spring.

We need you, your family and friends to donate blood on Saturday, June 1st, starting at 8:30am. We were unable to hold our last scheduled blood drive on March 2nd due to the Red Cross not being available to come to the Masonic Temple on that day. This has resulted in the number of donations for the year being significantly reduced from projections, so we need a real good day of donations during this session.

Our guest speaker for the stated meeting on the 13th is Mr. Gregorio Luke, First Secretary of the Mexican Embassy, who will speak about Mexican President Benito Juarez (1806-1872).

The annual Lodge Family Picnic will be Saturday, June 15, 10:00am to 3:00pm, at picnic area 4, Lee District Park off Telegraph Road. The youth from Alex-Wash Chapter, Order of DeMolay and Bethel 22, IOJD are invited, along with their families. We have a picnic shelter in case it rains.

In observance of the Feast of St. John the Baptist (June 24), all are invited to attend the worship service on Sunday the 23rd, 11:00am, at Baptist Temple Church,700 Commonwealth Avenue, which is near the GWMNM. We will also hear a speaker on the Saints John at our second stated on the 27th.

Finally, the officers, past masters and any who desire to be ritualists will attend the annual Southwest Masonic School at Ferrum College from June 30 to July 3, to improve their ritual work. Call Worshipful Brother Jim Stone, (703) 323-8334, if you wish to attend.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Earl C. Million
Worshipful Master
