Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

January 1993

Master's Message

My Brethren:

I am indeed humbled by having now assumed this high station of authority held by the father of our country. I pray that the Supreme Architect of the Universe will enable me to conduct the operations of the lodge with effectiveness and I may discharge my duties to your satisfaction. Again, I assure you that I am determined, to the utmost of my power, to execute the trust which you have reposed in me.

Many thanks are extended to the Installation Officers, members of the I Martha Washington Chapter, Order of the Easter Star and members of this lodge that made our Installation a success. It was a pleasure to work with these devoted members of the craft.

January will begin with the reception of the Grand Master of Virginia. Most Wor. Brother Dean will present Donald M. Robey with his 25 year veteran's emblem. Please take part in this event to show your support for Most Wor. Robey in his many accomplishments throughout the last 25 years he has served our craft.

On January 28, we will have a madrigal group sing music from the renaissance period. Ladies and friends are welcome to attend this meeting and will be invited into the lodge room for the concert. Refreshments with the ladies will follow the performance. Please bring a dish to share for this occasion.

Again, I want to thank everyone for expressing their support for the up coming Masonic year. I am sure we will have many successful events as we all work for the cause of strengthening and cultivating America's foremost Masonic lodge, following the foot steps of our founding Worshipful Master, the illustrious Brother George Washington.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Claude H. Harris, Jr.
Worshipful Master

Worshipful Harry Coles Simpson
1911 - 1992

May he rest in peace.

FROM THE CONSTITUTIONS OF FREEMASONRY: Every brother must attend all meetings, whether stated or emergent, when duly summoned unless he can offer to the Master and Wardens such plea of necessity for his absence as the said laws and regulations admit.
