Master's Message

My Brethren:

It is indeed a privilege this month to announce the visitation of two of this nation's most important Masonic leaders.

On Wednesday, April 7, Ill. C. Fred Kleinknecht, 33° Sovereign Grand Commander of Scottish Rite Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction, will speak on our fraternities worldwide involvement and present influence in society. Our lodge has always had a close relationship with the Supreme Council first established by Albert Pike himself upon his visits in the nineteenth century. Please show your support as the Sovereign Grand Commander delivers his message concerning Freemasonry's international development and global cohesion.

At our second stated meeting, being Charter Night, lodge will be opened in the Replica Lodge Room which contains the original furnishings of the lodge used during George Washington's lifetime and gives the meeting an ambiance of historic flavor. We are honored to receive on this occasion, the R.W. Grand Master of Pennsylvania, Bro. Edward H. Fowler, Jr. As the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania originally issued the warrant for this lodge February 3, 1783, Bro. Fowler will speak on our historic relationship and fraternal ties.

The Grand Master of Masons in Virginia, Most Wor. Werner H. Morlock will speak at the Scottish Rite Maundy Thursday Service on Thursday, April 8. This event is open to all members of the Scottish Rite, their ladies and guests.

Let us support our DDGM as he makes two official visits this month on April 1, to Andrew Jackson Lodge No. 120 and April 23 to Kemper Lodge No. 64.

For those who can not attend the William Hiram Wood Area School on May 7 and 8 because of the state-wide Royal Arch Festival, please plan on attending the Sinclair Area School taking place at the Manasseh Lodge Temple in Manassas, Va. April 9 and 10.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Claude H. Harris, Jr.
Worshipful Master

FROM THE CONSTITUTIONS OF FREEMASONRY: Every brother must attend all meetings, whether stated or emergent, when duly summoned unless he can offer to the Master and Wardens such plea of necessity for his absence as the said laws and regulations admit.
