My Brethren:
Our Ladies' Night Celebration will be held at the Holiday Inn on Eisenhower Avenue this year, and will be quite an event. Dinner will consist of a choice of broiled filet of dover sole with pecan butter or sautéed veal marsala. Entertainment will feature musical airs from the opera The Magic Flute by W. A. Mozart; a production by Opera Americana. Elkins Lodge No. 646 will be attending with over 30 members arriving from the Philadelphia area. The price of tickets are only $20.00 per person, which will include a wonderful hand made gift for your lady. Please contact one of the lodge officers as soon as possible for your reservations with your choice of entrée, as tickets are going fast at this price.
At our first stated meeting in October, we had originally scheduled a visit by Rt. Wor. C. A. Sinclair, Jr. Brother Charmie will not be with us because of his continued illness, so I have scheduled an EA degree for that evening. We will also have two short presentations by the Lodge Education Officer and Masonic Home Ambassador.
At our second stated meeting we will conduct civic recognitions and will honor the City Manager of Alexandria, Mrs. Vola Lawson. Many city officials have been invited to witness the award ceremony, which will take place at 8:30 pm in the lodge room. Please bring your family and friends to show the support of our city government and our civic recognition recipient.
Brethren, we have two Master Mason's Degrees this month and three or more next month. I again request your participation at the called communications to help support our candidates progressing through the degrees.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Claude H. Harris, Jr.
Worshipful Master
