Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

December 1993

Master's Message

My Brethren:

My year as Worshipful Master has now come to an end. I would like to thank all the officers and my personal mentors who contributed long hours of hard and dedicated work toward the many events that have made this year a success. My goal was to work for the betterment of the lodge, and serve you as its Worshipful Master to best of my abilities. I hope that I have accomplished this. Again, my thanks are extended to you all.

On our first stated meeting in December we will hold our annual meeting for reports and the elections of officers for the year 1994. Every member of this lodge should attend, and cast his vote for those that will serve in these most important positions of our lodge.

The wreath laying ceremony at Mount Vernon will again be held in cooperation with the Mont Vernon Ladies' Association, The National Sojourners, and the Foundation for Collingwood Library and Museum on Americanism. Please arrive at the main entrance by 8:30 am if you are planning to attend.

As you can see by the Trestleboard, there are a number of activities in December. We will be attending the installation of Grand Lodge Officers of the District of Columbia this year, to show support for the close attachment we have established. We will leave from the Memorial at 6:30 pm for those interested.

At our second stated, we will hold the annual memorial service for all those brethren who have passed to the celestial lodge above. Please attend this moving service in remembrance of our dear brethren who have passed away.

Finally, our installation will be held as in the past, on Saint John the Evangelist Day. It will be an open installation, so please attend as we see the new officers that will be elected, installed for the ensuing Masonic year.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Claude H. Harris, Jr.
