FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

On behalf of the officers and myselfI would like to thank everyone who assisted in making the George Washington Birthday Celebration a success. Brother Washington was a man of honesty, integrity, honor and humility, attributes we should all emulate.

I would also like to thank everyone who helped make the Cornerstone Ceremony for the Alexandria Red Cross a success.

Freemasonry teaches men to be better morally, spiritually and intellectually. To promote this ideal, we have established a weekly Masonic Study Group, every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., all Masons, especially all EA's and FC's are encouraged to attend. We have scheduled degree work for the 3rd, 4th and Sth Wednesday of this month, please join us in bringing these new candidates to light.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

George D. Seghers
Worshipful Master

"If we do not teach young Masons to know Masonry they will drift away and become bread and butter masons, attending the big meets and big eats, using the Masonic apron for a napkin." *

"Let us keep Masonry free of the things that divide and estrange men, knowing that all bigotry is blind, and all intolerance has its roots in fear." *

* The Master Mason, February 1924 - Joseph Fort Newton

"All who would be true Masons should learn to abstain from malice and slander, evil-speaking, backbiting, unmannerly, scornful, provoking, reproachful and ungodly language: and that he should know how to obey those that are set over him, on account of their superior qualifications as Masons however they may be in worldly rank or station." **
