Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

June 1995

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

"Masonry is an order of men sworn to make righteousness, reasonableness, and the will of God prevail; a great humanizing fraternity whose mission it is to soften prejudice, to refine thought and sympathy and service, and so help to prepare a nobler humanity and a more just and merciful social order, by broadening and deepening the interest of Masons in the faith, philosophy, history and practical aims of the fraternity." *

If we are to carry forward the goals of our great fraternity we must be knowledgeable of the tenents and teachings of the fraternity. To foster and nurture an interest in the history, writings and activities of Freemasonry, the lodge sponsors a Discussion Group each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. The group meets in the lodge library and is open to all Masons, EA's, FC's and MM's. Please join us for an evening of discussion and fraternal fellowship.

Most Worshipful Thomas F. May, Grand Master, will make his official visit to Masonic Districts 4 and 7 on Friday, June 9, 1995. He will be received in Fairfax Lodge in Culpeper at 7:00 pm.

We will celebrate St. John The Baptist Day on Saturday, June 24, 1995. We will open a Table Lodge at 6:00 pm in Gadsby's Tavern, process to Christ Church for a Charity Sermon and return to Gadsby's Tavern to complete the Table Lodge. Tickets are available from the Master and the Senior Warden.

Tuesday June 27, 1995 at 6:00 pm the Lodge will lay the Cornerstone of the RECA Building in Arlington. A reception will follow the ceremony, please join us for an evening ofwork and fellowship.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

George D. Seghers
