My Brethren:
Most Worshipful James Bernard Wilkinson, Grand Master of Masons in Virginia, has proclaimed that all Lodges holden under the Grand Lodge shall designate and observe a "Bring a Mason Night" during the month of September. This presents an excellent opportunity to renew some old friendships and to motivate some of our Brethren who have not been to Lodge of late, to attend. Take the time to call a Brother and offer them a ride to Lodge anytime you can, in particular, for our first Stated Communication on September 12.
Worshipful William D. Mitchell, District Educational Officer and Worshipful Master of Andrew Jackson Lodge No. 120 will be our guest speaker at our first Stated Communication. He will be speaking on the scheduled topic of Virtue. Make plans to attend and hear what Worshipful Brother Mitchell has to say about this subject that deals with the moral excellence, goodness and righteousness that all Masons should endeavor to display through the avenue of their actions!
The second Stated Communication is designated Warden's Night. Come out and support our Senior and Junior Wardens in this traditional and annual rite of passage. The guest speaker for the evening will be Worshipful Stephen W. Law, Past Master of Elmer Timberman Lodge No. 54 and member of The Grand Lodge Committee on Work. He will be speaking on the scheduled topic of Temperance. This is the first in the next series of talks, dealing with Temperance, Fortitude, Prudence and Justice that will be presented over the next three months.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Mark W. Underwood
Worshipful Master
