Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

June 1997

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

Two Entered Apprentices were initiated in our lodge last month. A 50 year pin was presented to Worshipful Brother Archibald W. Lyon. Congratulations Archie! Archie was the second brother to be a General in the Armed Forces and Master of our lodge (the first was G.W.) I'd like to thank everyone for the good turn out for the Grand Master's Official Visit to District 1A.

At our first stated communication District Blood Coordinator, Bro. Keith B. Throckmorton, will be speaking on the blood program and CPR.

Our second stated communication will be the celebration of St. John the Baptist Day. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday June 24, at Gadsby's Tavern. We will open Lodge; proceed to Christ Church with Knight Templars from various Commandries; enjoy a charity sermon; and recess back to Gadsby's Tavern for dinner and masonic toasts. Tickets will be sold at a cost of $20 to help offset the cost of the dinner and the function. Space is limited, so get your tickets early from the Lodge officers.

The regular District 1A Ritual school is on June 23.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Walter L. Margeson
Worshipful Master
