Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

April 1998

Master's Message

My Brethren:

At our first Stated Communication, April 9, our District Educational Officer, Worshipful William D. Mitchell, will be sharing a presentation on the "Ancient Landmarks." Wor. Bro. Mitchell is a Past Master of Andrew Jackson Lodge No. 120 and is no stranger to Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22.

On April 18, many of our Brethren and their ladies will be traveling to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for Ladies Night hosted by Elkins Lodge No. 646. This event is always enjoyable and I am sure this year will be no exception.

The 210th Anniversary of our Virginia Charter will be observed at our second Stated Communication, April 23, at 7:30 pm in the Replica Lodge Room. We are fortunate to have Right Worshipful Claude H. Harris, Jr. presenting a program entitled "Esoteric Symbolism of the Watson & Cassoul Apron." Rt. Wor. Bro. Harris is a Past Master of Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22 and Past Grand Standard Bearer of the Grande Loge Nationale FranHaise (G.L.N.F.). He currently lives in Bangkok, Thailand, where he remains very active in Masonry by representing the Grand Master of France.

On August 14-16, Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22 will again be making an Official Visit to Liberty Lodge in Beverly, Massachusetts. We will take a bus that will leave the George Washington Masonic National Memorial on the morning of August 14, and return to Alexandria the evening of August 16. The bus will cost $75 per a person and lodging will be provided by the members of Liberty Lodge. If you would like to join in this trip, please contact myself or Rt. Wor. Robert C. Swiger. Because seating is limited, reservations will be on a "first come first served" basis.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Philip J. Hays
Worshipful Master
