Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

June 1998

Master's Message

My Brethren:

At our first Stated Communication, June 11, Worshipful W. Kirk MacNulty, P.P.J.G.W., will be speaking on the Immovable Jewels. As well as being a noted Masonic author and scholar, Wor. Bro. MacNulty is an interesting speaker. You will not want to miss his insights into Masonry.

At our second Stated Communication, we will observe our annual St. John the Baptist Celebration. This meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, at Gadsby's Tavern. (See the Lodge Trestleboard for additional information.) We will open Lodge; process to Christ Church with the Knight Templars from Old Dominion Commandery No. 11; enjoy a charity sermon; present a charitable contribution to the City of Alexandria for the poor; and recess back to Gadsby's Tavern for dinner and Masonic toast. Tickets will be sold at a cost of $20 to help offset the cost of the dinner and the function. Space is limited, so get your tickets early from the Lodge officers.

We are fortunate to have two Lodges from different jurisdictions and one from Virginia visiting our Lodge this month. This is a good opportunity to come out and see how other Lodges exemplify the degrees and compare the differences in our rituals.

Wor. Granville C. "Jack" Canard, Jr. has done an excellent job in creating and maintaining a web page for the Lodge on the Internet. Our web page has information about the Lodge, it's officers, and each month's Lodge Bulletin and Trestleboard. If you have access to the Internet, please visit our site at: http://aw22.com/index_aw.htm

Sincerely and fraternally,

Philip J. Hays
Worshipful Master
