Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

August 1998

Master's Message

My Brethren:

August will be a busy month for Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22.

We will be conferring the degrees at each of our Called Communications. Four candidates will receive the degrees in Freemasonry and several will be passed to the degree of Fellowcraft. Please come out and support your officers and candidates in the work.

At our first Stated Communication August 13, Wor. Bro. Matthew Todd Szramoski, Past Master of John Blair Lodge No. 187, will continue our theme of "A Temple of Living of Stones" by speaking on the topic of a Pillar of Beauty.

August 14, at 7:00 a.m., a group of Brethren and their spouses will load a bus and depart the George Washington Masonic National Memorial for our Official Visit to Liberty Lodge in Beverly, Massachusetts. On August 15, we will open a Master Mason's Lodge at Liberty Lodge to exchange fraternal greetings and make a presentation. We will return to Alexandria on Sunday evening, August 16. I would like to thank Wor. Wardell Thomas and Rt. Wor. Robert Swiger for their hard work in organizing this trip.

After much planning, I will unveil a plan for a Lodge Endowment Fund at our second Stated Communication August 27. The program, Building a Future, will detail various ways we can work to ensure the financial future of our Lodge. You will not want to miss this meeting.

NOTICE: We will be hosting Constitutional Lodge No. 294, Beverley, England, from October 6-10. Many of our guests will need to be hosted during this period. If you can open your home to these fine Brethren, please call Wor. Philip J. Hays at (703) 329-3028. You will not want to miss this opportunity to share with these Brethren and their wives from England.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Philip J. Hays
Worshipful Master
