Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

Master's Message

My Brethren:

October is a busy month for Alexandria-Washington Lodge. I invite you to join in the activities of your Lodge.

On Sunday, October 4, at 8:00 pm, Most Wor. Albert H. Tignor, Jr., Grand Master of Masons in Virginia, will deliver the message at the 53rd Masonic Night at First Christian Church of Alexandria. Come worship with the Brethren from the other Lodges in the area.

On Tuesday, October 6, we will welcome those traveling from Constitutional Lodge, Beverley, England with a reception at Collingwood at 7:00 pm. They will be landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport earlier in the evening and will be brought to the reception to meet their hosts. Even if you are not hosting someone, come make these Brethren and their families feel welcome.

We will officially receive Constitutional Lodge at our first Stated Communication, October 8, at 7:00 pm (Note time change.). After receiving the English in Lodge, we will confer the Master Mason Degree. During Lodge, the ladies will be entertained by the musical Camelot at the West End Dinner Theater (4615 Duke Street, Alexandria) at 6:00 pm. Tickets for the ladies evening must be purchased in advance from Wor. Philip Hays for $15.

Lodges from North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia will be conducting degree work in our Lodge this month. This is an excellent opportunity to see how work is conferred in other jurisdictions and Lodges.

The second Stated Communication, October 28, will be Past Masters' Night. Right Wor. Robert C. Swiger will be in the East and Most Wor. Floren Lamont Quick, Past Grand Master of Japan and Secretary of Alexandria-Washington Lodge, will be speaking on the Regius Manuscript. Masonic Birthdays will also be celebrated at this meeting.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Philip J. Hays
Worshipful Master
