My Brethren:
The Emblem Dedication on June 26 was a very special day for masonry. We had a unique opportunity to showcase masonry to the public and I think we did a wonderful job. Many thanks to the 40 plus volunteers from Alexandria-Washington Lodge, including some of our ladies, for your hard work and dedication. This event was aired on CNN and was also video taped by Capstone Productions. Copies of the video will be available at the gift shop in the next few months.
We are attempting to recruit Lodge members to work as attendants in our Replica Lodge Room. We initially need members to work occasionally on weekends and possibly on weekdays. If your are interested, please contact Jack Riddell at the Memorial (549-9234).
We are tentatively scheduled to lay a cornerstone at the new city library on Duke Street, sometime in October. If you are interested in assisting us and be apart of this historic event, contact our Senior Deacon, Jim Stevenson.
The Williams portrait is still on display at the National Portrait Gallery. The exhibition is expected to close in October. The Williams portrait is predominately displayed as if it were the focal point of the exhibition. If you haven't already, you and your family would enjoy this great exhibition honoring our Charter Master George Washington.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Michael P. Bible
Worshipful Master
