Master's Message

My Brethren:

Our first stated communication will be a presentation on the Scottish Rite. Right Worshipful Walter S. Downs will be providing us with information on the Scottish Rite in general and the Alexandria Scottish Rite Valley. Most brethren of Alexandria-Washington Lodge are members of the Alexandria Valley.

Our second stated communication will be a presentation about the Order of DeMolay. Brother Robert Feldman III, one of our newest Master Masons, will do this presentation. Brother Feldman was the Northern Region Master Councilor, and is now a Senior DeMolay and Master Mason. If you have ever wondered about DeMolay, plan to attend this informative and enlightening presentation, where I am sure that you will get your questions answered.

As I stated in February's Bulletin, our Lodge Ritual School is one of the best that I have ever attended. If you are interested in assisting in the degree work, have thought about becoming an officer of the Lodge, or would like to brush up on some of the Ritual work please plan on attending our school. The school is held at 7:00 p.m. every Sunday except when noted in the Trestleboard.

"So that I might travel in foreign countries...receive Master's wages and thereby be the better enabled to support myself and family and contribute to the relief of distressed brother Master Masons, their widows and orphans." How often we hear these words spoken in lodge, but do we really pay heed to these words? Alexandria-Washington Lodge has a Widows Fund that was setup with a contribution from one of our brethren. This fund has been used to support and maintain our relationship with the wives of our departed brethren. I am asking each brother of the Lodge to look in your heart and see if you might contribute to this great and important charity. You can contact Worshipful Brother Wardell Thomas or me for further information.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Terry L. Gigure
Worshipful Master
