April 2000

Master's Message

My Brethren:

At our first stated communication April 13, we will be honoring one of our most distinguished Brethren, Right Worshipful Godfrey P. Runaldue. Brother Runaldue was installed as Master of Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22 in 1950. He has served with distinction and honor with this Lodge, other Lodges and with the various Appendant Masonic Bodies. Please join with the members of Alexandria-Washington Lodge in honoring one of Masonry's finest.

Our second stated communication will be our celebration of Alexandria-Washington Lodge's Charter Night. Lodge will held in the Replica Lodge room in the George Washington National Masonic Memorial. Seating is very limited so come early so you will not be left on the doorstep.

It is with deep regret that we say goodbye to one of our most endearing Brothers, Right Worshipful William A Brown. Brother Brownie was the Lodge Organist for as long as I have been a member. His demeanor and brand of musical talent will be sorely missed in this Lodge as it will be in many others.

Points to Ponder:

Are you an active member?
The kind that would be missed
Or are you just contented
That your name is on the list?
Do you attend the meetings
And mingle with the flock?
And help with hand and heart
And criticize and knock?
Do you take an active part
To help the work along?
Or are you satisfied to be
The kind who just belongs?

Do you ever work on committees
To see there is no trick?
Or leave the work to just a few
And talk about a clique?
So, come to meetings often
Or do you stay away from them
Don't be just a member
But take an active part.
Think this over, brother
You know right from wrong
Are you an active member
Or do you just belong

Sincerely and fraternally,

Terry L. Gigure
Worshipful Master
