June 2000

Master's Message

My Brethren:

Our first Stated Communication of the month will be a Fellowship night. We will have a short business meeting and during this meeting, R. W. Riddell will give our ladies a private tour of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. This is an opportunity for our wives to view one of the most magnificent Masonic buildings in the US. After the meeting, we will enjoy a light repast of ice cream, cookies, fresh fruit, and drinks. Please contact one of the Officers to let them know if your wife will be attending this event.

Our second Stated Communication will be the celebration of Holy Saint John's Day. Our guest speaker will be R. W. John Schroder who will be speaking on Saint John. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to secure the use of Gadsby's Tavern for our annual table lodge and procession to Christ Church; therefore, we will be holding the regular stated communication on Thursday, June 22, 000

A committee was appointed last month to review our Lodge's Resolutions and By-laws so that they can be revised and published toward the end of this year. This committee will be reporting their progress throughout the remainder of the year. An announcement as to any recommend changes will be announced to the membership in the August or September Trestleboard. If you have any recommendation, please contact one of the committeemen.

We will be hosting Liberty Lodge, Beverly, MA the weekend of August 19, 2000. This historical event dates back many years. We are looking for members' families to act as hosts for our visiting brethren. This is an opportunity to make new friends or renew old acquaintances, so if you are interested in hosting a family contact our Senior Warden or me.

Brethren, Worshipful Brother John Nicholson has told me that he plans to retire from Federal Government services next year, and his future plans are to move to West Virginia in 2002. He suggested that we start looking for someone who could "understudy" with him for the position of Lodge Treasurer. If anyone has any accounting experience or would like to take on a challenging job, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Terry L. Gigure
Worshipful Master
