November 2000

Master's Message

My Brethren:

November is the month of Grand Lodge and the beginning of change in Lodge management. At our first and only Stated Communication this month, we will be discussing the Grand Lodge Resolutions, and I will be appointing audit committees to review and report on the Lodge's health at our first Stated Communication in December.

We will also host two events this month a Provincial Lodge of Past Masters for all incoming 2001 Junior Wardens and the Masters and Wardens Association. The Provincial Lodge of Past Masters is open only to members of the Royal Arch (York Rite), Past Masters, or Junior Warden candidates. The Masters and Wardens Association meeting is open to all Master Masons more especially to the Masters and Wardens of Districts 1A and 1B.

Next month we will be performing our annual wreath laying ceremony at the tomb of Worshipful Brother George Washington on the Mount Vernon estate on December 14, 2000 followed by refreshments at the Museum of American History at Collingwood. These events take place at 8:00 am. These events also coincide with our First and only Stated Communication of the month.

You will also find the flyer on the planning going on for our trip to visit our English brethren. Brother Brent Campbell and Worshipful Brother George Seghers have been researching and putting together an itinerary, that has something for everyone. If you are planning on going, here is your opportunity to get in on the advanced plans.

If I don't get a chance to tell you personally a big thanks to everyone for your help and guidance during this period of change and I look forward to helping the Lodge to continue to grow and prosper in the coming years.

Brethren, Worshipful Brother John Nicholson has told me that he plans to retire from Federal Government services next year, and his future plans are to move to West Virginia in 2002. He suggested that we start looking for someone who could "understudy" with him for the position of Lodge Treasurer. If anyone has any accounting experience or would like to take on a challenging job, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Terry L. Gigure
Worshipful Master
