June will be a relatively light month, as many brethren are away on vacation for the summer months.
Our first Stated Communication of the month will be a commemoration of Flag Day, with the Heroes of '76 presenting the lesser-seen "Colonial Flag" program. Many of us have seen the "Building the Flag" program, which is commonly presented around this time of year, but in the interest of trying something different, I have asked W.B. Mark Arbeen to help set up this patriotic program for the brethren.
Our second Stated Communication will be our annual St. John the Baptist Day Celebration at Gadsby's Tavern. We will meet in the American Legion Hall and open Lodge in Due and Ancient Form promptly at 6:30 PM! We will then call off and process to Christ Church under the escort of the Knights Templar, courtesy of Old Dominion Commandery No. 11 and Sir Knight David Morris, their Eminent Commander. We will present the Vice-Mayor of Alexandria a check for the relief of the poor of the city. Following that, we will return to Gadsby's and have our refreshments to complete the evening. Tickets will available from the Officers at $25 per person up to June 16. There will be no tickets sold at the door. We need to provide the caterer with an accurate headcount and, based on prior experience, this is the only way to effectively accomplish that. Limit 100 attendees.
Please notice the insert for this month's bulletin. In our continuing efforts to organize community outreach programs, our Brother Josh Wise has put together an Amateur Radio Field Day, with assistance from other HAM Radio operating brethren. This is an annual event in the HAM community for the purposes of practicing emergency communications preparedness and awareness. This year's event will start Saturday, June 28 at 10:00 AM and continue through Sunday, June 29. Whether you're a HAM enthusiast or not, please come out and enjoy the fellowship generated via the airwaves from HAM operators both locally and from around the world. We plan to have picnic facilities attached to the event starting at 1:00 PM. Set-up will commence on Friday evening, June 27.
As a reminder to the officers who couldn't make it to last month's Training Program, a make-up class is scheduled Saturday, March 14 at 8:30 AM, at Springfield Lodge No. 217. Please make every effort to attend.
NOTIFICATION: At our first June Stated Communication on June 12, we will be voting on ratification of the proposed by-laws for the newly formed Committee on Scholarships and Educational Activities.
Sincerely and fraternally,

James M. Stevenson
Worshipful Master
