June will be busy month for us. In addition to our Stated Communications, we have several activities scheduled this month such as an Entered Apprentice degree on June 7, a Master Mason degree on June 15 and a district fraternal visit to Potomac Lodge No. 5 in Washington, D.C. on June 21.
The first Stated Communication in June includes a program by Wor. Dean Alban and Bro. Jeff Marshal on Theosophy, Ancient Mysteries, Alchemy, Kabala, Hermetic Philosophy and its relationship to Freemasonry. This will be a great program to learn more about the esoteric and philosophical aspects of Freemasonry! At our second Stated Communication in June, some our Brethren from our sister lodge, Alexandria Lodge 876, in Trets, France, will be here to help us celebrate St. John's the Baptist Day! (Lodge opens promptly at 6:30 PM at Gadsby's Tavern). This is a very special and traditional Masonic event for us. It promises to be an outstanding evening including a spectacular meal with the Table Lodge, a Masonic procession to Christ's Church with an escort by the Knights Templar, a charity sermon, a check presented for the poor of Alexandria to city officials from the City of Alexandria, and Wor. Bro. Charles R. Walk will be presenting a program on St. John the Baptist. This is an event you will not want to miss! Seating is limited, so make sure you get your ticket from one of the lodge officers or through our lodge website, www.aw22.org, as soon as possible.
The program for our Entered Apprentice Lodge on June 14 is titled "Unmasonic Conduct". Right Worshipful Mickey Ander, PDDGM, will be our speaker for the evening. This is a very important topic that should be of interest to all Masons, specially our Entered Apprentices and Fellowcrafts.
Our Scholarship Committee is in the process of evaluating the applications received and the committee will meet in June to make their selection. Their selection will be presented at our first Stated Communication in July.
You are cordially invited the installation of Officers of Alexandria-Washington Chapter, Order of DeMolay on June 12 at 7:30 PM and to the installation of Officers of Bethel 22, International Order of Job's Daughters on June 18 at 7:30 PM. Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22 sponsors both youth groups, and your support and participation would be very much appreciated.
It won't be long before our secretary starts to mail out the dues notices with the approved increase. If you feel that the new dues amount of $135.00 plus Grand Lodge assessments will be a hardship for you, there is still time for you to purchase your LMIP at the previous dues rates. You may purchase your LMIP by contacting our Lodge Secretary and payments can be made by check to the secretary or by Visa/Master Card.
I look forward to your participation in the events above.
Sincerely and fraternally,

Frank S. Skwirut
Worshipful Master
