Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

July 2004

Master's Message

Brethren,

We have very few activities scheduled for July. In addition to our Stated Communications, we will confer the Master Mason degree on July 12 and have a trustees meeting on July 14.

he first Stated Communication in July includes a program by Wor. Daniel Martin Clark, PM, who was recently appointed District Blood Coordinator for Masonic District 1A. Wor. Clark is very dedicated to the blood program and he will be sharing his plans for this important program.

At our second Stated Communication in July, the Scholarship Committee will grant their first scholarships to two deserving students. Also, at this Communication, we will present Mr. William "Bill" Cleveland with the "Community Builders Award".

Brother Lester Parks lost his battle with cancer on May 30, 2004. Brother Parks was a very active member of this lodge and an outstanding mason whom we will miss dearly. Please keep his wife, Eloise Parks, in your prayers.

If you are a parent, grandparent, uncle or have any child between ages 12 to 20, you should encourage the young man or lady in your family to join one of the Masonic youth programs sponsored by this Lodge. Our Lodge proudly sponsors the Alexandria-Washington Chapter of the International Order of DeMolay for young men between the ages of 12 and 21 and the International Order of Job's Daughter, Bethel 22, for young ladies between the ages of 11 and 21. These youth programs are a good opportunity for you to spend quality family time with the young adult in your family and it provides a positive environment for them to become good members of their community. To find out more about the DeMolay Chapter, contact Wor. Daniel Clark, PM, at DANIEL.CLARK(at)wellsfargo.com. To find out more about the Job's Daughters, contact Mom Mona at mommona22(at)yahoo.com

Enjoy your summer and have a happy 4th of July.

IN MEMORIAM:
Brother Lester C. Parks, Jr.
January 2, 1934 - May 30, 2004

Sincerely and fraternally,

Frank S. Skwirut
