Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22

April 2006

Master's Message

Brethren,

Thanks to everyone who took part in our events so far this year. Last month even with nine of our regulars out of town we still had a large group at our "First Friday AW" social event. I appreciate everyone who has attended any of our events. Whether it is degrees, stated communications, fraternal visits, or social events, each event counts. If you have not come to something this year, please do. Your brethren would like to see you, share a meal, and catch up on old times.

Brethren, your lodge needs your help. We need some of you to agree to work at the Replica Lodge Room. We have lost several of our attendants to the Eternal Lodge. We can work out different times or days, but we need you to come to our aid. Please contact me or Right Worshipful Jack Riddell at the Replica Lodge if you can come and help. By the way, this is a paid position.

This is another busy month for the members and friends of Alexandria-Washington Lodge. This month for the First Night AW social event we will go to The Harvest Moon Restaurant and Lounge in Falls Church. We will meet at 7:30pm for dinner.

We will have two Called Communications to work in the degrees. On Saturday the 8th we will work in the Master Mason Degree. On Saturday the 15th we will work in the EA and FC Degrees. On both Saturdays we will have coffee and pastries at 9:00am and will start our degree work at 10:00am. We will also have an Archives Meeting on Tuesday the 25th at 7:00pm. At our first Stated Communication this month our District Masonic Home Ambassador will attend and present his program. We also have a Fraternal Visit to A. Douglas Smith, Jr. Lodge of Research No. 1949. This is the official visit of the DDGM so please come out and join us. Because of this visit we will not make a Fraternal Visit out of the District this month. At our second Stated communication this month we will have our Charter Night. This is the only time during the year that we use the Replica Lodge Room for part of our meeting. We will plan on using the Replica Lodge Room unless we have closed it for repainting / repairs.

We also have two groups visiting during the month. On Sunday the 2nd Martha Washington Chapter #42 Order of the Eastern Star will use our Lodge at 3:00pm for a School of Instruction. On Saturday the 29th we will have a visit from Uhland Lodge No. 735 from NY. All Lodge members are invited to attend the meeting with this visiting lodge.

Brethren, two future events, one is the Ladies Night in PA with William L. Elkins Lodge. This takes place on the 20th of May. I need your reservations for the hotel. Also, on the First Friday of June we are going to a Potomac Nationals game in Woodbridge. We are having a picnic and game. The picnic begins at 5:45pm with the first pitch at 7:05pm. The picnic includes Pulled Pork, Barbecue Ribs, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, salads, dessert, and drink. The price is $24.00 per person, that includes a reserved seat ticket. I need your reservations and money starting now. I have to put down a deposit.

Sincerely and fraternally,

"Tom"
