Master's Message

Brethren,

Thanks to everyone who took part in our events so far this year. I appreciate everyone who has attended any of our events. Whether it is degrees, stated communications, fraternal visits, or social events, each event counts. If you have not come to something this year, please do. Your brethren would like to see you, share a meal, and catch up on old times. I know that in our busy times we sometimes catch up with friends via email or cell phone but my brothers there is nothing as real as sharing a meal and looking and old friend in the face. This principle also applies to making new friends.

This is another busy month for the members and friends of Alexandria-Washington Lodge. This month for the First Night AW social event we will go to Kate's Irish Pub & Restaurant in Springfield. We will meet at 7:30pm for dinner. The performers that evening will be Doubledown.

We will have two Called Communications to work in the degrees. On Thursday the 4th we will work in the Fellow Craft Degree. On Tuesday the 16th we will work in the Entered Apprentice Degree. On both days we will start our degree work at 7:00pm. We will also have a Trustee's Meeting on Tuesday the 16th at 7:00pm. At our first Stated Communication this month we will have a program by our Senior Steward on Freemasonry in Today's Culture. At our second Stated communication this month we will have our Bring a Friend Night.

On Monday the 8th we will have a visit from Cosmopolitan Lodge. All Lodge members are invited to attend the meeting with this visiting lodge. On Saturday the 13th we will have the District 1-A Senior Lodge Officer Training (SLOT). The District Education Officer, Worshipful Brother Herb Hollander will be going over the Running of a Lodge. All Line Officers should attend, all Brethren are welcome.

Brethren, on Saturday the 20th of May we will be going to King of Prussia, PA for our Ladies Night with William L. Elkins Lodge. This is a long standing tradition and wonderful event. If you have not attended you should try and go, if you have gone in the past please come again.

On the First Friday of June we are going to a Potomac Nationals game in Woodbridge. We are having a picnic and game. The picnic begins at 5:45pm with the first pitch at 7:05pm. The picnic includes Pulled Pork, Barbecue Ribs, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, salads, dessert, and drink. The price is $24.00 per person, that includes a reserved seat ticket. I need your reservations and money starting now. I have to put down a deposit.

Sincerely and fraternally,

"Tom"
